I get this error message when I try to access coherence mode:

"unable to switch to coherence mode. The parallel's mouse sychonization service is nor started." It then tells me strart the service in parallels tools.

    Help!

    Thanks

Have you tried reinstalling Parallels Tools? Do this from the Virtual Machine Menu of PD4, click on "Reinstall Parallels Tools". I too have encountered trouble with parallels tools with some tools not functioning including Coherence Mode. I stumbled upon your exact problem and solved it by the method just described.

If in case you're running into trouble with some Tools not working but others are, you may be interested to look at this thread

    Hello,

Please follow the steps below in regards to the issue:
    1. Boot Windows in Safe Mode by hitting F8 (Fn+F8) during its boot screen.
Go to "My Computer" - "C" Drive - "Program Files" - "Parallels" folder and delete the "Parallels Tools" folder.
    2. Click the Windows "Start" menu -> "Run" and type "regedit". Hit OK.
    3. In Registry Editor, go to "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Parallels" and delete the "Parallels Tools" entry.
    4. Reboot Windows
    5. Now re-install Parallels Tools from the Parallels Desktop menubar when Windows is running .
    6.Now try Coherence feature.

    Tried that...

Now I got a new install of tools that will NOT let me remove them. It says I do not have permission to delete the tools folder even though I am the Administrator. Any suggestions?
