    I’ve got this set-up:
    MacBook Pro OS 10.6
Guest machine Windows 7 (Boot camp)
    Parallels desktop build 3846

Booting windows via boot camp is working fine.

When I try to start the VM, probably 9 times out of 10, it gives me an error that it can’t connect the hard disk.
Following the advice of other posts on this subject (at least the ones relevant to version 4.0), I changed the disk setting from boot camp to disk image, and then back again. Sometimes this would appear to work, mostly not.
I also tried deleting the VM out of parallels and then recreating it from scratch. Again, sometimes this would work, but usually not.

This was happening before upgrading to 10.6 and also on build 3844. I was hoping that upgrading would alleviate this problem, but that does not seem to have been the case.

I would like a viable solution, or at least, a simple way to convert a boot camp partition to a virtual machine, if at all possible. Thanks.

Ok looks like I might be able to answer my own problem:

It seems that if I go into disk utility and then unmount the boot camp disk before starting parallels, this error doesn’t seem to happen. This is based on limited testing at the moment though.
