I have finished setting up using the install tips thread instructions. Worked nicely thank you! Now I want to have the same VM available to use by another user. What is the best way to move to the new users account and have the correct permissions? Alternatively should it go to a shared directory and then how are permissions handled? What works best for copy/move and sharing? Thanks, stephen
Hello Steppy, To share a VM between several user accounts do the following: 1. Move the VM files (.pvs and .hdd) to your shared folder (for example, Macintosh HD => Users => Shared => VM folder). 2. In the Finder, right-click (or Ctrl-click) the folder with the VM and choose Get Info from the pop-up menu. 3. In the next window expand the Ownership & Permissions group. 4. Expand the Details group. 5. Set the access level for Others to Read & Write. 6. Click the Apply to the enclosed items button. 7. After it's done, each user of your Mac should be able to access these VMs.
Hi, I have a VM up and running on my main login. It was created setting the option to share with other users and sits in the users/shared/parallels folder. When I log in as a second user and access the Parallels icon it leads me into the VM setup wizard. As I shared my VM on my main log in should it not just automatically be assigned to others or do you need to run through the wizard. If you do what setting etc should you chose? Charlie
Is there a way to do this if it is BootCamp partition. I keep running into administrator rights issues when trying to set this up.
