I get this error after upgrading to Snow Leopard. The folders that Parallels creates are all there. The files are all there. Permissions have been repaired at least six times. Parallels has been uninstalled and re-installed at least six times as well, and the .plist files all point to the right place. I get this popup message, and the program halts when I click on "OK." How do I fix this?

    1. Mac OS X 10.6
    2. Parallels Build #3846? (the latest)
    3. 2Ghz MacBook Pro Core Duo
    4. 2GB RAM
    5. 320GB
    6. Not using Boot Camp
    7. Did not upgrade from a BETA
    8. #3846? (latest) after OS X upgrade to Snow Leopard
    9. Parallels Tools are installed
    10. Uninstalled/re-installed numerous times, each with a corresponding Permissions correction; inspected the .plist files and .xml files to ensure Parallels is looking in the correct place.
    11. Error message: "The folder required for the correct operation of Parallels Desktop is not available."
    12. Error image: I have it but have nowhere to put it at the moment. Can email it.

    Hope this helps...

    Thanks!

And therein lies the rub: when Time Machine restored my user directory, I had to log out and into another user (that I had given admin perms to), and restore the user folder via overwrite. When it overwrote the user, it added " 1" (space 1) to the user name. If I change the username, I lose access to all my other data. Looks like another backup/Migration Assistant session tonight...

When you try and download Parallels 4 from the web and follow the link I get Errror 403 forbidden.
