I have several versions of Windows running in Parallel on my MacBook Pro. I just installed a version of Windows 7 and everything went very smoothly. I also installed the Parallel tools and several applications for work without any hiccups. Keep in mind that many of these installations had required several reboots. Upon changing a couple prefs in the configure panel, such as increased video ram and changing from 1 CPU to 2, and restarting Windows I had lost EVERYTHING. All installed apps and system preferences, even the desktop image, had all been wiped to the default settings. I've even looked to see if I was using the wrong user account but I couldn't find anything in the folders. This is the first time I've set my configuration to share my OS X User folder so I'm wondering if some sort of alias has been deleted. Gotta jump on a plane right now. Let me know what I should be looking for to recover my Windows user account with all the apps I've installed.
I thought this was interesting; I had changed my user avatar when things were running properly and it's still there. It doesn't look like ANYTHING else stuck though. So it really seems as though Parallels decided to roll back to a previous version of the os image coincidentally at the time that I changed the CPU from 1 to 2. Would love to know how this could have happened before I start using this full time for work and all my data disappears.
