Hi there I've recently installed parallels so that I can run the office accounting software on my MacBook. All went well until I tried to find the Network which I cant seem to locate from within Windows mode. Its all up and accessible in Mac mode but not in windows Can anybody offer advice? Paul
Hello Paul, Could you please give us the answers to the below mentioned questions. 1. Please specify which version of Parallels Desktop you are using? 2. Are you not able to connect to your company's website even after typing in the Web address? Please reply us soon so that we could provide you the resolution as soon as possible.
1. Am using Parallels 4.0 for mac 2. I can access the internet but am unable to detect the office network in "my computer" or network places
Hello Paul, Thank you for the information. Please follow the below mentioned steps. 1. Launch Parallels Desktop but do not start Windows OS. 2. On the menu bar click on Virtual machine => Configure => Network Adapter. 3. Select Bridged networking and default adapter. 4. Click Ok. Please reply us the status of the issue.
1. If I launch Parallels and not Windows, I dont get the menu bar and options to configure 2. I followed the instructions and selected Bridged Networking and default adapter (with Windows open) Same deal - no network options available
In bridged mode your virtual machine appears on the network as a stand-alone computer with its own IP address, you can see here how it works. In your case, first make sure that bridged mode is working. Go to Start -> Run. Type "cmd" (without brackets), A console would open. Type "ipconfig /all" (without brackets). Check if the IP address is aquired by the virtual machine. (If not - restart the virtual machine). Try pinging the destination you need. Also, check the antivirus/firewall settings. Try disabling them.
Thanks so much - they're all there now and very accessible - now if i cabn only get the printer to work (I will create a new post) Paul
