Did you try creating other user accounts in Windows?

    Did this question get answered?

I have the same problem on my newest machine. This one was built with 3844 while other machines have 3844 as an upgrade.
When I start Windows, it goes ahead and logs in as Administrator without asking for the password even though one has been assigned. -- Yes, I have created another account: also with a password and having administrative privileges.

So, even though a second account is created you still able to log in only under administrator's account?

On Windows side, under Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts -> "Change the way users log on or off" are both options enabled? (Windows XP).

Are you able to log off and switch to another user?
The following guide might be useful.

Both were enabled. I just disabled Fast User Switching since we have no interest in that anyway. When I rebooted, it still restarted Windows using Administrator without asking for the password that had been assigned to it.

If I log off Administrator, it then offers me the expected login screen for the "normal usage" id.
