Hi, We run Managed Preferences fro users, groups and computers through our xserve onto our iMacs - One setting is not to allow USB devices plugged into the iMacs to work (read/write disabled); This works fine on the iMacs, but we just noticed that when you have Parallels (in our case running Windows XP) on the iMacs hosts, once a USB key is plugged, the Managed Preferences are bypassed, the the user can read/write onto the USB key through the Guest OS (Windows) Please advise is this is a settings issue that needs udpating so that Parallels checks these settings, or if this will be mended in a future update/etc.. Thanks for any clarifications! Cheers,
You can actually just disable such function in Parallels Desktop -> Preferences -> "Connect to the computer" when USB is plugged. And there is a SmartMount feature that connects the USB storage device as a network drive to Guest OS. If it still does in your case then this is most probably a permissions issue. In any case, you can disable this as well: Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Smartmount.
