Hey, I searched through your forums, but couldn't find any solutions to my problem, so I'll go step by step with whats happened. I'm running build 5638 of parallels, and am emulating Windows XP Home, SP2. I'm booting not from a boot camp partition, but from an image file. Ever since updating to a newer build, After windows' loading screen, it just goes black. I tried booting in safe mode and it kept getting caught at TDI.sys. Then I ran a windows chckdsk and a full windows repair. Now it still goes black, and if I try running in safe mode, it goes past the TDI.sys and goes black. At the top, it says "Safe Mode Microsoft Windows XP Build 2600xpsp_sp2..." in white letters, but the screen is still black. I've tried rebooting in safe mode with command prompt, and the same thing happened. I need XP for my business, so any help to get me back on my feet will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It seems you did most of the troubleshooting yourself already, so this is hard to suggest anything here. But, for the safety of data, you can create a new virtual machine and install Windows in it. Then, going to Configuration Editor (as I understood, this is Parallels 3.0) go to hard disk section and add a new one, pointing to the old .hdd file.
That way, the data would be accessible being a drive D:\ in Windows, but all programs would have to be reinstalled.
Otherwise, it would be much faster to create a ticket in our support: http://www.parallels.com/support/request/
