Parallels just caused my osx kernel to crash. Occurred when plugging in a USB device (had been previously connected to windows fine). This does seem like a freak occurrence at this stage. From the backtrace below it was clearly the com.parallels.kext.prl_usb_connect kernel extension that caused the crash. Same issue Got kernal panic here also..... on my macbook..... It happens just after I try to attach a TomTom GPS USB to the virtual machine... Seems Parallels has to do some work. Happends also connecting mobile phones via USB cable... Bluetooth seems to be fine.... But some data transfer from Nokia phones requires usb... which means the only option is via Bootcamp (which has direct communcation with the hardware), or attach it to a separate PC for the job.. Its a pain to say the least... I've has 5 crashes of my macbook in the same night after trying to find various workarounds. I think this is a long standing problem too.... never been addressed..
