Hi, i'm using parallels desktop to run windows xp on my mac. I need to use the compressor tool but for some unknown reason it is grayed out. I checked and found out that Undo disks must be unchecked, if there exist snapshots they must be removed and that if the Bootcamp partition is used it wont work. Other than that i have no idea why this is. If anyone knows the reason please let me know. mojoDodo
Can you specify the Service Pack version of your Windows XP guest OS? Could be the case of system requirements, check the following link: http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v4/docs/en/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/23499.htm If you could specify the Parallels Desktop version that you have, that would also be useful.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I've got installed either SP2 or SP3 so it is within the requirements, and also i'm using Parallels Desktop 4. As i said i checked the requirements to be able to use the compressor tool and everything seems to be as it should be but just can't choose the compressor from the virtual machine menu. mojoDodo
Ok i just found my problem, and it was that my vm wasn't running. although i went through the Parallels help i must have missed that.
