i have problems installing windows xp. every time i press the "power on" button to start the vm the screen gets dark and it says that i have to restart. Why is this? How can i fix it?

Could you provide us the screenshot of the error message that asks you to restart the Windows ? To take the screenshot please press and hold Shift key + Command + 3 for 3 - 4 seconds.
