Okay I have a mac and installed windows and installed a couple of windows-only software on the windows side of my mac. Now, I recently installed Parallels on the Mac side, but when I open Parallels to run Windows on my Mac, I cant find the applications I installed under the Windows side? Where are they?? Do I have to reinstall them?? Also- parallels has an Adminstator login under Windows. I created a Personal account on Windows, I dont see that? How do I transfer my applications and settings to Parallels so I can access them using Parallels and Mac at the same time? Thanks.
Did you first had a Windows installed on a Boot Camp partition? It seems so, but it also seems that you might have installed your virtual machine as a usual one, not the one based on as Boot camp partition. It might be that you currently have two Windows actually, no surprise in that case that all the setting are different. To confirm this, search the Mac (using Spotlight) for the .pvm files. If you find one, that is exactly the case. By default it should be in /Users/<username>/Documents/Parallels/ To create a virtual machine based on a Boot camp partition you would need to use the following article: http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v4/docs/en/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/22183.htm Specifically, the following one: http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v4/docs/en/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/23112.htm
Yes I have a Windows Vista .pvm So i will read those directions but QUESTION: how do I delete the current Vista .pvm I have installed right now and start over? THANKS
You can go to Parallels menu -> Window -> Virtual machine list then right-click (control-click) on your current virtual machine and select "Remove" (virtual machine has to be shut down for the option to appear). You can then proceed with Delete Virtual Machine Assistant.
