Okay, I've just gotten a new hard drive (1TB ^^) And I wanna move ALL my program files to it. However, windows vista backup and restore won't let me to it the backup and restore way where you back it up then restore it, because the drive the files are installed on is C (Where windows is installed) My question: Is there another way to move the files AND have them playable?
Moving Program Files to another drive Hi! With Windows you don't have a lot of options; when installed all program paths are set; if you then move files 'manually' to another drive (then C paths will be corrupt and no programs will work anymore... The only thing you can do, if you insist on changing things is reinstall the lot from scratch! Unless somebody else can come up with anything? I don't think there are other option(s) left honestly... Hello, please clarify, are you using a BootCamp partition or a virtual disk based virtual machine? In the former case, you can move the partition to another drive with applications like Acronis Disk Director. In the latter case, you can just copy the .hdd file (or .pvm file, if it is Parallels Desktop 4) to the drive in question. Please check, that the drive location for the virtual machine in Configure -> Hard Disk is the same as the actual Boot Camp partion or virtual disk.
