Hi, I've read other threads that describe this fault with other versions of Parallels, but not 4, and the fixes offered there don't seem to have worked, so I'm hoping someone can help me on here.

Since installing Parallels desktop 4 on my machine I've found it has been interfering with my CISCO client (4.9). When I open it (Mac side) I now get this error message

Error 51. Unable to communicate with the VPN subsystem. Please make sure you have at least one network interface that is currently active and has an IP address and start this application again.

I have found the only way to work around this is uninstall CISCO and then re-load. Once this is done it will connect fine, and I have VPN access in both host and guest (windows XP) OS systems (although its a little slower in windows). Trouble is once I turn off the machine when I come to re-boot I am faced with the same problem, and so am having to uninstall and re-install every time I want to start a session. Obviously this is workable, but a bit of a pain!!

All fixes, if you have any, need to be explained in idiot terms, because I have to admit that while I use these things, I don't understand them at all!!

Could you please try to run terminal (/Application/Utilities/Terminal) and type in it the command

    sudo SystemStarter restart CiscoVPN

if this doesn't help, please create a support ticket at http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/request/ and post here its number.

PS: if it is not a problem, please make a note if it helps in your case
