I am running Parallels 4 and Windows XP on a brand new iMac. I am trying to get a HP Deskjet 930c to print in the XP VM. It works fine on the Mac side. It automatically installed the HP Color LaserJet 8500 PS. I thought this was wrong so I deleted that printer and installed the 930c drivers. After reading the instructions I realized my mistake. I deleted the 930c and added the 8500. Windows keeps trying to install the 930c back. It will print a test page but it usually won't print anything else. How can I start over?

It would be nice to know... can't get Parallels to work with my Photosmart S7560 (again, it's fine on the Mac side).

The Rendezvous or Bonjour method seems to work the best but sometimes it forgets its connection. I haven't figured it out yet.

I decided to check the Parallels Help file and got the answer I needed to get my printer working.

You need to go into the Configuration menu for the VM and under the parallel port menu, select the printer you want to use instead of "Default Printer".
The printer in the VM still needs to be either the Apple Laserwriter or the HP Color Laserjet 8500 PS.

I can't get printer recognized in Windows XP

I've tried most every solution suggested in trouble shooting, having installed Apple Color LW 12/660 PS driver, & selected that as my printer (even though I actually have Epson Stylus CX5800 F, which works great on the IMAC side).
I've also selected "Enabled" in configuration in Printer Sharing to try to share the printer, to no avail. Thus, XP side does not recognize my printer & will not automatically connect and I cannot print a test page or do anything.

I had similar problems setting up my wireless HP printer, I decided to change from shared to bridged networking (hence giving Windows Guest OS it's own IP address) and installed drivers on XP no problems so far although I haven't printed since Snow Leopard upgrade

Thanks for the suggestion of installing printer driver, which I already did as a result
of one of the trouble shooting methods. I installed driver for Apple Color LW 12/660 PS,
as was suggested & selected it as my printer (even though I have Epson Stylus CX5800F
for my IMAC, which also works great on my PC notebook with no problem), selecting
"Local printer attached to my computer." Thus, neither the shared option works (it
couldn't find printer & wouldn't print test either) nor installing suggested printer driver works.

    Any other suggestions.
I appreciate any help you can render through your experience or how I can get tech support
to actually respond to me through my trouble reports to them.
