hey all, sorry if there already is a thread about this.

Basically I am asking, How did you (those who successfully installed and have it running) get Windows 7 fully working - internet, sound...?

I tried yesterday to install Windows 7 (7100) as an OS Version: Other Windows through Parallels 4
Windows 7 is working but the internet, USB, and the sound are not! I know that I can download AC97 for the sound but I need the internet. How do I get the internet to work?

I set up my Windows 7 Virtual Machine using 'Windows Vista'... It complained a bit about having to reactivate Windows, but the shared networking worked just fine once the configuration finished and windows 7 booted. I haven't tested the sound yet, though I recall seeing a "missing audio device" notification or something to that effect, so I suspect that doesn't work.

I wrote a bit more about it in that link.

    Hello,

In Windows 7, you need to install Parallels Tools after the OS installation.

To install Tools go to Virtual Machine -> Install Parallels Tools.

Even after the Parallels Tools installation, if some components are not working then please follow these instructions:

    1. Right click on Computer.
    2. Choose Manage.
    3. Choose device manager.
    4. Choose the components that has a red X mark.
    5. Right click on it and choose update drivers.
    6. Connect it to internet and check for the updated drivers.

This will restore every components in to working condition.

    Thank you.
