    Hi,

i've got a big problem with PD4 (3844): If i start my VM (Windows XP Pro SP3) i loose all of my modifier keys (shift, ctrl, alt etc). So i can not log on in windows... Also my CPU usage goes up to 200% (dual core machine). I've followed all instructions i found here. Posted a support case. They gave me a tool "Cleanup Kernel Extensions" which temporary was a solution but i still have this problem. Last Week everything was OK. Today i have this problem again.

I want a final solution for this, otherwise i will stop using parallels forever!

    Kind regards

Please let me know the ticket ID. Have you tried to reinstall Parallels Tools completely? Have you tried to reinstall Parallels Desktop by http://kb.parallels.com/en/5714?

    Didn't work

I am using Parallels 4.0.3846 on MacOS 10.5.8.
I lost the ability to type capital letters.
I spent a couple of hours following the instructions to completely remove Parallels from my system and then reinstall it from a freshly downloaded copy.
This did not solve the problem.
The only thing that I did not get rid of was my Windows XP virtual machine image.
This tells me that the ignore-the-shift-key bug is somehow encoded in that VM.

If I have to start all over again and rebuild the VM, I might as well try doing it in Fusion. It's certainly going to be no more work, and at least it will have a different set of bugs.
