Is it possible to create an image by using RIS Build or PXE Boot in Parallels?

Every time I try to build an XP build from the network it just locks up at the "Setup is starting Windows" DOS screen.

This happens in Parallels 4 and 5 beta.

Any ideas what could be going on?

Do these work in Parallels 5 beta?

Do these work on Parallels Beta 5?

    It's 32 bit XP.

I'm pretty sure that it should. If it doesn't - it's an issue for us to fix

This behaviour occurs in current version due to conflict of RTL8029 driver and Parallels Ethernet Adapter driver.

All should work if rtl8029 driver is removed from the image and added Parallels Ethernet driver from http://kb.parallels.com/en/5808

When you say the image are you talking about the Parallels image or the network image?

The problem is to get these drivers added to the network image will require a hell of a lot of bureaucracy to get them in there.

If into the Parallels image where exactly do these go?

    Thanks for your help.

Posting the update to the thread:

The Parallels Desktop 5.0 allows PXE-boot of Windows with just using Realtek8029 network driver. Afaik, this driver is present in Windows XP by default, so the XP-installation should work immediately without embedding Parallels Driver.

and as a FYI: We have created a KB-article http://kb.parallels.com/en/6833 about injecting Parallels Ethernet driver to the PXE image
