    hello.
this is my first post here.
as you can see, i am a newcomer to the Parallels world.
yesterday i installed Parallels on my Macbook 13, created a VM and installed Win XP on it. everything went fine.
but today i am trying for almost an hour now to browse the internet on Win XP under Parallels, and it won't work. instead, there is just this message on IE: website found, awaiting response.
i thought Parallels would use the defaut network configuration of OS X (by the way, the internet is working fine on OS X at the same time it won't work on XP under Parallels) and i wouldn't have to configure XP to connect the internet. thus, i didn't configure anything about internet on XP. regarding Parallels, i chose the typical configuration, so Shared Networking is selected.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks.

How are you connected to the Internet? cable, dsl etc.? try switching to bridged mode. also please ping google.com for example from Windows side (click Start -> Run -> type cmd -> ping google.com), if it's showing packets exchange then you do have Internet access in the virtual machine and the above is a DNS issue for instance

    adsl.
but i found that sharing my internet on the MacOS X system preferences would solve the problem, and indeed it did.
    thanks anyway.
