    Hi!

I would like to run an old game (heroes of might and magic 3) in my guest WinXP. My problem, that the game supporting only 800x600 resolution and when I start it, then there is a large black frame around the game.

On my original windows machine (with x3100 integrated video card) the resolution is "zooming" and I get a real full screen mode (with pixel scaleing or something like that.)

How can I do this in paralells desktop?

    Thank you,
    Andras

What happens if you run the game while virtual machine is in fullscreen mode (View -> Full Screen)?

The black frame shows when I'm in full screen mode. In window mode I have a small 800x600 window and can't resize it.

Andras, please open Configure menu of the virtual machine, select Video item and check "Adjust the host computer's screen resolution in fullscreen" box

sorry for replying to such an old post but i have the exact same problem but i can't find that option anywhere. I'm using parallels desktop 5 and the only options in video are 3d acceleration and vertical synchronization.
    Thank you!

In Parallels Desktop 5, the option is at:

Virtual Machine -> Configure -> Options -> Full Screen -> Adjust Mac resolution in full screen.

Five years later, and I'm facing this same issue.
I'm using Parallels Desktop 11, running Windows XP, to run old games. Problem is, when starting the games in full screen, they are surrounded by a black frame, and the game display is very small.
Adjusting the resolution of Windows down to 640x480 makes it better for playing the game, but then useless for operating the system.

I cannot find any of the above mentioned options. I would appreciate some help with this.

P.S. I tried right clicking on the game's .exe to adjust compatibility to "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution", but that did nothing.
