apparently my wife switched users while Parallels was taking a snapshot. Now Parallels thinks it's still trying to do a snapshot but it's just hung up. Normal "quit" doesn't work, and none of the tools - like Snapshot Manager - are available. Force quit doesn't stop the snapshot process - it just resumes when I restart Parallels.

Somehow I need to shutdown the snapshot and revert to the last one.

I have just experienced the same problem this morning. Hung in snapshot. Parallels 4 build 3810 (Jan 25, 2009). MacOS 10.5.6.

In my case, had to force restart the mac yesterday while parallels was running cause the keyboard/mouse had become unresponsive. I think this is caused by parallels asking to update (even though I have told it not to update in preferences). Request to update window gets lost behind main virtual machine window and seems to lock up keyboard and mouse if Mac has gone to sleep at some point.

This morning, my wife said she got the "your disk may be damaged, do you want me to check it" message when she started up the virtual machine (Win XP). Expected because of the crash yesterday. She said yes to check disk. After windows booted but before she could log in, it started to make snapshot and has been hung ever since.

Also hoping there is a way to restore from last snapshot. Else will get to see if I can successfully restore from backup of VM image file.
