Hy, it's 3 days that I'm trying Parallel Desktop 4 on my MacBook 2.4 GHz, 4 GB Ram, Leopard and I'm finding too many problems to run Windows XP Pro SP2 (original): 1 - I can't create an other account in XP. Parallels see only admnistrator account and when I create a guest account XP, from host control pannel, when VM starts, XP don't ask me witch account starting; 2 - I installed Outlook in my XP but I can't sending mails. I can only receiving them. 3 - I installed VM with defaut settings but when I run XP I see an error: "Parallels can't find \\.psf\Desktop" so I must press F5 all the time I want refresh desktop icons or icons in the folders; 4 - VM don't see my iSignt in XP. 5 - Catia V5R18 original (Dassault systemes) don't run in XP; 6 - WinGenius FTP surfer don't run in XP; 7 - LogMeIn don't run in XP; 8 - Sony digital voice Editor 2 don't run in XP; ...and too many other configuration problems. Ah, an other thing: please update guide with real functions and real screenshots. The documentation is too important when the users want to try a new program that costs 79 Euro!!! Andrea (Italy)
Hello Andrea, I would recommend you to contact support for better clarification about each issue: http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/ According the issues you have: 1) Please check if you have those users -> right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Local Users and group -> User most probably you have "undo disks" option enabled Configure -> Startup and shutdown-> Undo disk 2 <<I installed Outlook in my XP but I can't sending mails. I can only receiving them. Is network work fine (try to open any site)? Most possible the cause of the issue in setting ofr outlook 3) Please check is Parallels Tools properly installed (please send us the screenshot of this error) 4) can you please explain what exaclty does not work with Catia V5R18? screenshot would be appreciated. 5) according the issue with Isight please check the follwoing article http://kb.parallels.com/en/4895 6.7.8 please clarify waht exacly does not work, how we can reproduce the issue and what error messages do you receive.
I uninstalled Parallels. This isn't a good software for me I'm reading only now you aswers because I set in my forum profile that "I want receive e-mail notifications about my topics" but I didn't receive any mail from you. I reinstalled Parallels Desktop trial version an other time but I hade the same problems, so I decided to unistall all your program. :-( Bye
