I am working on a friend's Mac laptop running Leopard 10.5.6 and Windows XP SP2, and I am only showing a Local Area Connection for the network adapter. There is no wireless ability right now through XP, but I can get wireless access on the Macintosh side.

He is running build 3214 (June 21, 2007), and when I update the software it says it is running the most recent build. I'm pretty sure this is version 2 and not version 3 of Parallels.

What can I do to get his wireless connection to function? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Barry

The thing is that the Network Card in Guest (Windows) is not the same card as in the Host (Mac OS X). It is completely different entities.

So, if Internet is working at Windows side - all is ok. If it doesn't - then it is a separate problem.

There should not be much difference on what networking is on your Mac OS X - wireless, ADSL-modem, Ethernet - all it doesn't have big importance.

No wireless connection in Windows XP

I seem to have the same problem as the original poster. I am running a brand new MacBook 13", 2.4ghz machine with the latest iteration OSX Leopard, 4gig of ram and a 250 gig HD. When Windows XP is open on the Parallels desktop, opening the network connections folder shows that the only connection available is a LAN. I have tried to create a new wireless network connection but each time I go through the wizard nothing new appears in the network connections folder and, of course, there is no connection to the wireless device. Wireless does indeed work just fine on the OSX side and from within windows XP Pro when evoked via a Bootcamp startup. The problem is only apparent from within Parallels. Any suggestions???

    Thank you in advance.

    Wireless with XP Pro

    Hello:
With some trepidation, I downloaded and installed the latest Parallels 4 build. I then made the required settings adjustments as per the P4 manual and now the wireless connection seems to be working, at least for the present time.
As an added benefit, the Windows XP guest boot time went from 3min and 45sec to less than 40 seconds, a welcome boost!
There still is, however, a 20-30 or so second delay before PTools loads and during that time coherence is not available.
    Hope this helps.

I am using Version 3.0 and did not see anything in the manual. Would you suggest going to 4.0 since it did resolve the problem. Does Device Manager now see the Airport Wireless?
    Regards.

Yes, the latest build (3810) seems to work but I am still experiencing a delay of the Coherence mode of about 20-30 seconds after Windows XP loads and wonder if this is normal behavior?
