I have successfully installed both the parallel desktop and a window xp home edition on my mac, however, I cant network my other laptop which is using window vista. Also, I would like to ask, a printer only works in windows, can my mac work with it now after the parallel desktop with window xp
Change the VM network settings to "Bridged Networking" over the "Default Adapter". You're probably still in the default mode of Shared Networking. Make sure Windows rediscover the new configuration (eventually shutdown/restart of Windows). When using Bridged Networking your virtual machine will appear as a distinct computer right on your network, just as your Mac and the laptop which is running Vista. In other words there will be 3 computers attached to your LAN. This is what you need. When using the other mode, Shared Networking, think of it as if your XP virtual machine sees the Mac as a modem/router connecting it to the Internet. There are two devices connected straight to your LAN: the Mac and the other laptop running vista. The XP is behind the Mac, on a distinct sub-lan and this is why you will have difficulties networking it directly to the vista laptop. It is possible but would imply settings beyond a simple post.
