Since updating to the beta version 3106, Parallels terminates unexpectedly about once or twice a day. There's no warning or message - Parallels just instantly dies, shutting off my Windows XP guest OS. It seems that this happens more often when i'm not using the computer. I'll be working, then step away for a while. When I come back, it's just as if I had closed down Parallels. Its not running anymore. when I reboot windows, it gives the normal message that it wasn't shut down properly. Is there a logfile or dump of some sort that I can post or see what might be causing this to happen?
3106 crashing I havent seen that yet but this build has caused several crashes while starting up (a restart of the VM seems to get it running) and it hangs a lot during restarts or shutdowns now which it did not do with 1970. I am wondering if it has corrupted the VM in some way.... 20" C2D iMac 512 meg assigned ram, 8 gig drive for the VM (30% utilized) running XP sp2 Phil
This also happens to me and this was a fresh install for me. Also seeing a lot of running low on virtual memory warnings, even though I cranked up the amount of memory for the VM.
Add me to those experiencing constant crashing of Windows XP Pro under 3106. I experienced no such problems with the Beta 2. Beta 3 is a big step backwards for me. Lew
Crashes just started yesterday I too am running 3036 but my crashes just started January 2. I use Parallels extensively at work and had no problem with this build between November 30 and yesterday. I've had two. One yesterday and one today. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a MacBook with 1.5 gig of RAM of which 512mb is allocated to Parallels. This has always worked fine with me.
I was not able to install XP SP0 with the beta Parallels despite several attempts, due to sporadic crashing at the Windows level. WIth the retail build, it worked fine.
debug? well, i am glad to hear i'm in good company at least! i was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on how you trace the problem and/or report the crash here in a useful way? i'm a very experienced windows user but i don't know where to look for this type of info in OSX and/or Parallels. thanks!
