When I shut down or restart my Mac, Parallels prompts me:

If I don't respond, a few seconds late, my Mac says:

How can I get Parallels to automatically suspend my virtual machine?

I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.6, Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac Build 4.0.3810 and the virtual machine is Windows XP Professional.

    Hello TheCat,

    Yes it is possible:

Please open Configure -> Startup and Shutdown-> On window close -> Suspend
and check option: Close window on shutdown

I'm sorry, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain that Close Window on Shutdown refers to the shutdown of the Guest OS in the VM not the Shutdown of Parallels or the Shutdown of OSX. So it will not have any effect on this issue.

    galochka's settings worked for me

Just confirming that those settings indeed worked and Mac logout now just works properly for me.
