    Hi All

I am running Parallels Desktop 3.0 for Mac, Build 5626. My guest OS is Windows XP Pro SP3.

If I run in “Bridged networking†mode then all works well – I can see and access all other computers on my network, both Mac and PC.

However, if I run in “Shared Networking†mode (which is how I’d like to run things), then I can no longer access my shared machines (PC or Mac) from “My Network Placesâ€.

I have been trying to sort this problem out for a couple of days, have googled endlessly and still I can’t get it to work.

Any help will be much appreciated!

    Tyrone Howe,

It is by design. In Shared networking, the virtual machine uses the Mac internet connection, and is not part of the network to which the Mac connects, in rough terms.

    Hello Flagg

    Many thanks for your reply.

So if I understand you correctly, Shared Networking is only for sharing the host’s Internet connection? So if I wanted to share a printer with another windows machine, or access another windows machines files, I cannot do this in Shared Networking mode?
