I have been trying to install Windows XP Pro as well as another guest OS for about a day now. Each time, Windows stalls at the same step... "saving settings". If I restart the guest OS, it reverts back to the stage where I enter the product key. I am using both the factory install CD as well as an image made from the CD. Neither of these methods work. I have given the guest OS plenty of RAM and, I am having no other issues with my computer except this problem. Additionally, I have also attempted an install of Mac OS X Sever v.10.5. I have similar issues with getting it to work as well. This happened after I decided to remove all of my guest OS's and start from scratch. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Parallels Desktop many times but, it has has no effect.
What build you are using, Also as first step permissions repair will be good idea, and make sure there is a folder Parallels in Documents
I was using the most current build. I finally got it to work when I reverted back to an earlier build. I'm an Apple certified tech. I know how to troubleshoot. I performed a permissions repair long before I posted on this forum. The truth is that Parallels Desktop has always been problematic ever since I started using it more than 3 years ago. This has been the worst issue that I have had with it.
