I am running Desktop 4, build 3810, and Windows XP Pro with all the latest MS updates. I had a problem with my previous version of Parallels where something got corrupted in the virtual machine, or windows, or ???, and until I reinstalled Desktop 4, I was unable to get WinXP to run under Parallels. Not sure if this is related to the problem I describe below. Anyway, now Desktop 4/WinXP Pro seem to be running ok. However, I can't get Windows Media Player to start. I click on the icon, get a short hour glass, and then nothing else happens. No app, no processes, nothing. Also, when trying to install a third party app (Charmed Quark Control software), I get a similar aborted startup. Any suggestions? How do I go about completely uninstalling Parallels, including the virtual machine stuff, and starting over? Thanks Mike Aymar
Thanks. I pretty much got it sorted out without having to do a repair. One of the apps needed to have all it's folders sitting on the windows side of the file system, and wouldn't install otherwise. My other problem was with WMP and I just downloaded the most recent version and it installed and executed fine. So, I am good for now. Mike
