To increase the capacity of the virtual hard disk:

    Launch Parallels Image Tool.
Specify the source image file of the virtual hard disk in the Source Virtual Disk Image File window. You may type the path and file name or use the Choose button to locate the file.
Note: If you choose a hard disk used by a virtual machine that has snapshots, all the snapshots, except the last one, will be deleted.

Select the Increase the disk capacity option in the Select Action window.
Specify the new capacity for the disk. The Add the unallocated space to the last volume check box, which is selected by default, means that the additional disk space will be added to the last volume. If you clear it, the added space will appear as unallocated space. To allocate this space, you can either create a new partition or expand an existing partition.

I also tried to expand my virtual disk that way. I expanded the disk a week ago but am getting the out of disk warning again. I tried running the image tool again. In browising to show which disk to expand, I show a disk2.HDD that is about 1 week old and winxp copy.hd that is current. How do I determine which is the correct one to expand, and shouldn't the copy have been deleted? Thanks

probably you have 2 disk in configuration, select one which is listed under Configure - Hard Disk 1
