So I'm a little fed up with this software at this point...so hopefully I can find some help here. When I boot up my MacBook, Parallels Desktop opens automatically. Everything boots up and it usually it goes to right into coherence mode. Lately, it hasn't been going into coherence mode. It gives me an error message- "Coherence mode is not available. Make sure that the guest OS has booted up and Parallels Tool Center is running." I've tried to update Parallels desktop 3.0, but when I download it and try to open it, Parallels Desktop freezes and says that the download is not recognized. When I try to install the update Parallel Tools, it won't let me do that either. I try to open it, but nothing shows up. The virtual machine says it is running. The guest OS I'm using is Windows XP. The laptop has me at my wits end. I hope someone can help!
Please download build 5626 following link bellow: http://download.parallels.com/v3/en/GA/Parallels-Desktop-5626-Mac-en.dmg and reinstall Parallels Desktop as described in kb http://kb.parallels.com/en/4790
Same problem I'm having the exact same problem. I've followed your advise, however, only get to step 5, it allows me to paste to the second line and then asks for a password. At this point it won't allow me to paste nor type any more. Please help I need to use a PC program for work.
