Virtual Machine (XP) wont start - no error

Hi first post, hopefully this is the correct area to do report this. I took a peek both here and on google without success.

The problem I'm encountering is my Windows XP virtual machine, running just fine for months, crashed on shut down. Now upon opening it in Parallels, it won't start. There's no error, I just can't start it. Under the Virtual Machine menu header the only two options NOT grayed out are "Stop" (selected) and Configure. Start and everything else I can't choose, nor does any other way I know of starting it work. I'm not sure if I'm just doing something incredibly stupid, or if the machine is corrupted, or what but... any help that can be offered would be appreciated.

Running version 4.0 on a MacBook with Leopard (All patches applied for OS and Parallels). Thank you in advance,

    Terry

    TerryD,

Please go ahead and create a new virtual machine with the existing image file. you can follow the below steps - :
    1) Open Parallel Desktop.
    2) Do not start the Virtual Machine.
    3) On the Menu bar click on File.
    4) Click on the New Virtual Machine.
    5) Click on Real CD/DVD ROM and Click Continue.
    6) Select the OS type and OS Version and Click Continue.
    7) Select Custom and Click Continue.
    8) Choose Memory to 512 MB and Click Continue.
    9) Click on Existing Image file and Click Continue.
    10) Click on Choose and select the .hdd file and click on open and Click Continue.
    11) Select Shared Networking and Click Continue.
    12) If you want to enable file sharing then enable it and Click Continue .
    13) Click on Done.

A new Virtual Machine is created and you can work on it without any issue.
