 I just purchased an IMAC, running Mac OS X 10.4.8.
I also bought Parallels and Windows XP Home Addition c/w Service Pack 2.

It looks like I have been able to load Parallels, but run into problems on Page 5 of the Quick Start Guide. Step 6 indicates that I must "choose Default CD/DVD-ROM from the Devices menu.
Well, If I go up to the title bar at the top of the computer and click on Devices, all drives are grey.
Although, in my IMAC I only have one CD/DVD drive.

When I look at the Parallels Desktop it shows Resources - CD/DVD-ROM 1 as Default CD/DVD-ROM. So, I assume I am OK.
Step 7 indicates for me to put in the XP disk.....which I do.
Step 88 indicates that I start the virtual machine by clicking the Power On button - which I do.
BUT, at that point my screen fades to grey and requires me to restart.

Does anyone know why this is happenning ?

Upgrade to Build 1970 of Parallels. Use the Help menu in Parallels to check for updates.
