I have a MacBook Pro with parallels 1970 Build. I am trying to play the game Vampire the Maquerade Bloodlines on Windows XP using Parallels. This game requires the CD to be in the Drive to play. After i launch the game it asks that i put the CD in. after i put the cd is the game will go to a splash logo and again it will ask to put in the disc. So even with the correct disc in the drive it is still asking for the disc to be in the drive! And the funny thing is when i put in the CD the auto play works. i even press 'play game' right off the disc and it still is asking for the disc to be inserted!! Any clue as to what i can do? Is this how parallels works? it needs disc images of everything or something?
firstly, parallels doesnt provide raw access to the cd/dvd drive in 1970 (however it seems to in 3094 BETA), so disk protection features dont work and disks will report incorrect cd in drive. also, it doesnt support directx so 3d graphics will not be available, so in answer to your topic, no.. parallels (as it is today) isnt meant for gamers.
