Not sure if this has been posted but I need some help with installation of my winXP as my guest OS.

Everytime I click the green 'play' button to start my virtual machine, the screen darkens to ask me to restart my computer, and i restart it but the installation just does not start. I get booted back into OsX.
I've tried using both the CD and the CD image but still can't install the guest OS.

    Did I do something wrong?

    My steps:
    1. Installed and activated Parallels succesfully
    2. followed the instructions as set out in the manual to select CD/DVDROM 1, selected Enabled and Connect at startup
    3. saved the settings
    4. Insert windows xp (with service pack 2) disc
    5. Click power on button
    6. screen darkens and request that i restart the computer

    Please Help.

i never reached the windows installation screen as described here http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_do_i_install_windows_xp_on_my_mac_with_parallels_desktop_1.html

Yes, it's been posted, over and over. An attempt or two with search would have found it.

Upgrade to the latest version of Parallels.
