Instead, it prompts me to start a new Virtual Machine. When I try to select my Windows XP partition (which is greyed out), I get the following error: " Virtual machine Microsoft Windows XP cannot be opened since it is already used in another Parallels Desktop window. " There are no other windows open (as Parallels just launched). Ubuntu can be selected, and will launch fine though. This is very frustrating. I am running the latest beta. Any help is appreciated before I throw my computer out the window.
just so you know, i'm having the exact same problem. I even reinstalled the prior non-beta version of parallels and still the same problem. i've had to restart to be able to use the xp virtual machine, but then it only lets me use it for one session. i'll let you know if i can find a solution...
Fixed. Sorry to reply to my own post, but Windows launched fine as soon as I deleted ~/Library/Parallels/winxp.pvs. I had to tell Parallels where the virtual hard drive was, and it booted right up. Thanks anyway!
solution? All right, I think this may be the solution. Check out this post: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=6064&highlight=lock
