I am running Microsoft Office XP (Student Version) on my Parallels VM. I regularly save my documents to a remote volume (over a VPN) and save the same documents to the Parallels Shared Folder. On any given day, when I do a "save as" to the Parallels Shared Folder, MS Word fails and recovers the document. I don't lose data, but it is a pain in the ass. To remedy the problem, I restart Word, restart the VM and sometimes restart my Mac. Eventually the problem goes away until another day. I run Parallels Compressor around once a week. Has anyone had a similar problem? I also have a copy of Office for the Mac, but that is balls slowm even with a Core2 Duo, so stopping the use of OfficeXP is not favored. Suggestions welcome.
