I'm having this same issue. I believe it has something to do with windows file protection, because it tries to install an original file from xp2. I disabled windows file protection; it still doesn't get passed that same point, but now the windows file protection screen doesn't come up. I'm assuming this is a bug, and that there needs to be some testing and another version of the installer. Any insight? Thanks in advance.

the problem is with windows file protection. The way I got it to work is by going to c:\windows\system32\drivers cache:

    1) rename sp2.cab to sp2.bak
    2) copy drivers.cab to sp2.cab

Run the installation, and it should work. Then just delete the sp2.cab copy, and rename the bak to the original file. Now, i'm just having a problem because there are no directions for how to use Parallels with the bootcamp copy of XP. Can anyone enlighten me?
