I am running 3036 on a Mac Mini CD 1.66 2 Gig RAM. Paid customer ;-) XP has been rock-solid, and Ubuntu *was* rock-solid until I installed Flash. Watching YouTube, it's stable as long as the Ubuntu is not heavily loaded, but any sudden moves and BLAMMO, the PVM crashes. I've experimented with turning off the PVM sound, and that fixes it. You Tube continues to run fine in FireFox, even whilst starting up GHCI (HASKELL) in a terminal. It *seems* like any kind of perterbing of the sound in Ubuntu causes the PVM to flake out. When it works, it's great, but Flash + another heavy app and it blows up. The problem is fixed by disabling sound in PVM property sheet for my Ubuntu machine. Can anyopne else check this problem?
Firefox, Flash, Sound Problems in Ubuntu 6.10, Parallels 3036 Fix Found: Follow this link, and switch the sound driver in Ubuntu. The Flash problems with sound are apparently a known issue. This fixes the crashing problems for me. Hopefully it will help others. Ubuntu 6.10 is very impressive.
