After Installing the Beta, launching the parallels would make osx beachball turn forever. SO I

Deleted all parallels folders, including the ones in the library, the pref.
Everything including the HDD files - in a futile effort to reinstall the 1970 build.

    Now the installer says
"my chosen volume contains software that is newer then the one I'm installing (1970)"

    SO I say "continue"

You cannot continue. There is nothing to install."

    HELP!! I'm stuck.

I searched for all parallels files, folders etc. Nothing left. Is there an invisible file or a reset of some sort? That I need to preform?

    THANKS!!

    Navigate to /Computer/Library/Receipts/

Look for Parallels-Desktop.pkg if your running 1970
Look for Install-Parallels-Desktop.pkg or something simular if your running the latest beta.

Delete the file, and empty the trash. Now you can install. Next time be sure to open the install package, and run the uninstall first instead of manually deleted Parallels folder.

I just ran into this problem a few minutes ago, and this worked for me. Hope it does work for you as well!

I think this is a problem with uninstall. I ran it twice but same prob as amul. Seems it doesn't delete receipts file. Doing so resolves the prob... tks
