I've been using Parallels on my new MacBook Pro for a while now and it's been working fine. Ealier today, I tried running 2 VMs at the same time and it worked fine. I then quit 1 of the 2. Later the same day, I started the second VM again and my machine instantly crashed and rebooted. I then tried starting Parallels again and, as soon as I start a VM, the screen pains a darker color from the top down and a box in the middle says that I need to power off the computer by holding the Power Button for several seconds. Now what? - Paul
Well, I don't know whether it helped or not, but I just uninstalled then reinstalled Parallels and now it works again.
Have you tried ressetting the NVRAM? On my MBP I had a similiar problem, however, once I reset the NVRAM, the problem went away, and it is been running fine every since. I run to VM's all the time, even shutting one down and restarting it later, no problem. However, my VM that runs Kubuntu 6.10 I have to manual click the red Parallels stop button after the window goes black. My other VM is Windows XP Pro SP2 and both run fine.
