I have an external floppy drive for both Mac and P.C. It works on my Mac but when I try it on Windows XP, Windows doesn't seem to recognise it and nothing happens. Could anyone help please. It's a USB.

You have to give us more information.

What procedure are you trying before the Windows VM does not recognize it? Are you getting an error?

I get the message B: is not accessible. Request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
Sorry so long in answering but have been away.
    Thanks for replying

    Hi

I had exactly the same problem. In fact my girlfriend got so mad she bashed the drive and it now doesn't work. I had to go buy a new one and lost a whole lot of data.

You will need to make sure that your external drive is in FAT 32 format.

Goto applications > disk utility > Erase > set to MS DOS For Windows.

Caution: You will need to back up your files on your mac first then tranfer back once you have formated the disc in this format.

Thanks for replying. How do I make sure the external drive is in FAT32 FORMAT.
The external drive works on the Mac and on a separate P.C. So it does work in Windows XP
it just doesn't seem to work going through parallels.
