I've got a Windows XP VM setup with a 30GB expanding disk image. The actual size on my physical hard drive is about 16GB at this point, but Windows recognizes the full 30GB (and it's partition fully fills the virtual drive).

However, I have a 18.7GB file that I am trying to copy off my Mac desktop (or unzip from a DVD). After a few minutes of copying or unzipping, Parallels consistenly crashes (drops me out of the VM and back to the configuration screen).

When create a brand new VM using a static disk image, I don't have any problem copying or unzipping the large file. Is this a bug in Parallels or some kind of Windows problem with the dynamic disk?

    Anyone else have similar problems?

Experiencing the same issue..... VM set to 16GB expanding (FAT32) , with 7.2GB actually utilized. XP shows VM as full and like you can not unzip large files.

FAT32 partitions limit the size of files to 4GB. If you're trying to unzip a single file that will end up being larger than 4GB, it will fail.

Convert your partition to NTFS if the guest OS supports it (i.e., isn't Windows 98 or ME).
