    Hi,

working on a MacBook Pro I wanted to install debian.
Afer the Install I wanted to switch from 1440x900 to 1024x768
after I did that the VM blinked like an out of sync Display.....
The same if I only allow 1024x768 and want to switch to 800x600 BOOM all the time, same with ubuntu.

    Gnome shows refresh rate 61

the working 1440x900 REfreshrates from xorg.conf are:
    H:28-72
    V:43-60

    and with 1024x768:
    H:28-51
    V:43-60

can anyone change the resolution on the run ?

    thanks in advance

To test this, you can start the Ubuntu InstallCD and choose
    System > Preferences > Screenresolution.

When i switch to any other resolution than the first ,
    The VM is unwatchable

There are some Xorg.config files on this board (do a Search) - I know this has been discussed a lot before. Since you are using debian, Ubuntu settings should also work fine for you.
