Since parallels does not have USB2.0 support yet, I would like to be able to use an external hard drive in OSX instead of parallels. If parallels is running at the time that I plug in the drive, is there any way to disassociate it with windows and allow me to use it inside of OSX? I have the same question about if parallels is running and I put in a DVD that I would like to use in OSX.

The reason I don't just suspend parallels while I do these other things is that I work at a help desk, I have my iMac screen showing OSX, and a second monitor on full screen parallels. I use both all day, and frequently suspending parallels is a hassle I would like to avoid.
