Hello, I just installed the latest version of Parallels, 1970. After running ubuntu, freespire and windows xp (just finished an install and all windows updates) I went to full screen on the xp VM. When switching back into the Mac OS, the screen flashed a couple of times and now it looks like I'm looking at a system with only 256 colors, and as if 'm looking at it through one of those lenses used for 3d, multiple images (those that you turn to one side to see a different image) -- every other vertical line is blank. I have yet to reboot to get rid of this effect. but changing settings of the mac desktop did not help. shutting down parallels did not help. It is as if, I imagine, the parallels full-screen VM grabbed control of the video card's memory, but it never let go.
. So you thought it was better to get on here and have a whinge first? Confirming the situation didn't seem like a good idea? .
apologies for the whine Sorry, I do realize I came off as a whiner. I have searched in the forum, but I might not know the correct words to search for. I have not seen anybody report this experience and was hoping someone could offer me some insight. The reboot did fix the situation, but I don't know exactly what triggered the ugly-display syndrome.
