HELP: Guest PC screen exceeds Parallels window size

    Hello,

I have had a very unusual thing happen... It seems the Parallels window does not match the guest OS (win xp home) resolution. The parallels window seems to be stuck at 640x480. Also, the mouse position does not sync up. I have managed to boot into safe mode and make sure the parallels tools matched the version of parallels (build 1970). Also trashed preferences.

Imagine a 1024x768 desktop in a 640x480 window. Even the Toolbar and Status bar are overlapped by the guest OS screen (I had to move the Toolbar to the left position to see it).

I hope I can get some help with this ASAP b/c I can't get it to work and we need to send dictations out for patients...

Have you tried to reset the resolution in the same way you would do it in windows?? Works for me. In the alternative - control panel - display properties - settings - screen resolution

yes, the best i can do is get it down to 800x600, but that still exceeds the 640x480 parallels window.

    In Parallels preferences, user interface:
Allow to change guest screen resolution ON
Allow to change OSX screen resolution OFF

Yes, parallels tools is installed and current.

When you go full screen with parallels, the window actually looks like it goes to 1x1 pixels, where all you see is the shadowing effect from OS X.

I have played with the resolutions in prefs too...
