All of a sudden now when I start Parallels, the VM panel shows up normal but when I click power up - the XP windows takes over my whole 20 iMac screen and more! I can't get it to shrink back to normal viewable size. When I hit full screen then I can see the task bar and everything else but when I go Control+Alt - the screen slides to the right and stays huge.

Any ideas from you more experienced users?

When I first installed and used - I could make my mouse move from XP to my OS X and back without having to to unlock the mouse and keyboard. Now I can't even do that?

I've had the system for three days and so far have had nothing but problems.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated before I go screaming into the night. I am overseas and need to be able to make this work as it is critical to the job.

Try adjusting the resolution down. Do that through the Windohs "control panel". In there is an item called "display". Click on the "settings" tab and make the resolution smaller.

This is kinda bugging me, too.

When I first install Parallels/Vista, the windowed view is nice and small, and then I can go to fullscreen at the touch of a button and back to a nice small windowed mode.

However, as soon as I install Parallels Tools, the windowed mode is the same resolution as full screen mode. But since the windowed mode has the Parallels interface elements to it you can't access the entire Windows screen and you have to move the whole thing to the side to access the parallels icons.

I KNOW I can create a shortcut to change the display settings but it's a pain (the time to change resolutions adds up if you do it enough times a day, every day).

I've tried uninstalling Parallels/Vista and re-installing and it's always the same: As soon as I install Parallels Tools the console mode gets big and can't be made smaller. I've also tried various Parallels prefences as far as screen resolutions.

So, how can I get that nice, compact, windowed mode back?
