I am a doctor who is trying to use a piece of software called "American College of Radiology: Ultrasound Edition 2". This software works fine under Windows (native), but in Parallels on my MacBook Pro, the software refuses to run asking to "...insert the CD and try again" or something to that effect.

I have found the problem to be that the software uses SecuROM 2.10.30, and that Parallels seems to have problems with this and other CD protection mechanisms because it isn't giving perfect 1:1 access to the Windows XP VM.

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? Or can a Parallels developer tell me if there will be a new version released to address this problem?

    Thanks,

    Jacob

info: using build 1848 of Parallels Desktop
Mac OSX 10.4.7 (all updates applied)
MacBook Pro 2GHz model with 1024MB RAM (604MB dedicated to the VM)

    same issue

I am having the same issue and am also wondering if there will be a work around for this issue. I have a CBT cd-rom that uses safedisc and it will not run properly. I can get the software to install, but it fails when checking for the key. Any ideas?
